32.00 acres of standing “Dawsum” Winter Wheat available by Tender

Situated at Castle Horneck, Alverton, Penzance

Description:

Approximately 32 acres or 13 hectares ‘Dawsum’ Winter Wheat planted late October 2024 within nine field enclosures as shown edged red on the attached copy of the RPA Map.

The land is level or only very gently sloping with none that is steep.

Full fertiliser and spray programme to date with one ‘ear wash’ to be done shortly.

To be taken as wholecrop silage or for conventional harvesting, the straw to be baled and removed immediately following combining, weather conditions permitting.

Situation:

The standing crop of winter wheat is situated at Castle Horneck, Alverton, Penzance on land to the south-west of Polgoon Vineyard and the Youth Hostel on the western outskirts of the town.

Access is via the main A30 and the A3071 St Just road on the routes shown coloured orange on the attached road map.

The most favourable access route for a combine is via Lisingey Lane along the north-western headland of the field which is currently planted in potatoes, through the gap and around the top edge of the ‘round’ into the gateway into field no. 4042 and then from that field to the others.

The accesses via the A3071 St Just road and a gateway off the lane which leads to the Youth Hostel are less suitable for a combine but can be used by tractors and trailers.
