Post-sale report
The top lot in our auction was a very fine oyster veneered William and Mary chest of drawers. It was our auctioneer’s favourite lot in the sale, and an unusual highest value lot, being an item of furniture, which in the auction environment, is so often the bridesmaid and never the bride.
An epic bidding battle ensued to £3,000, with the eventual buyer throwing in spoken multiple bids to settle his rival!
