Antiques, Fine Art & Collectables

1 September @ 10:00 am 4:00 pm

Lodge and Thomas, The Truro Saleroom are pleased to invite you to view our forthcoming auction of Antiques, Fine Art and Collectables scheduled for Friday 1st.

Viewing days: Wednesday 30th & Thursday 31st August from 10am – 4pm, as well as from 8:30am on the morning of the sale.

We have a remarkably intricate, handcrafted 3’ scale model of a live steam traction engine, finished in an apple green livery with copper-capped chimney and spoked straked wheels, which has already received enthusiastic reception both on social media and here in the saleroom. Built by Mr L. C. Dobbs, this fine engine carries an estimate of £8,000 – £12,000.

Consigned by a local vendor comes an extensive collection of medals of varying designs and materials from the British Art Medal Society (BAMS) which have engendered much interest from associated local organisations. These medals are created by distinguished contemporary designers that hail from around the globe, patented by the artist and are then only available for a limited time and are therefore perfect for any buyer looking to add to their collection.

In the furniture section we have a couple of exquisite early 19th century country chairs. One particular example is an ash, fruitwood and elm comb back Cornish country chair – of Windsor Style, where the fruitwood has oxidised over many years resulting in a delightful smooth, bronze finish. Also from the Duchy, we have a vibrant Cornish pine dresser of elegant proportions that is sure to brighten any home.

We are fortunate to have had the consignment of two complex and elaborate premium pinball machines designed by Steve Ritchie, programmed by Lyman Sheats and manufactured by Stern Pinball. With retail values of over $7,000, they come in the themes of ‘AC/DC’ and the Original ‘Star Wars’ trilogy. The AC/DC model in particular, comes with some finely crafted 3D models and game features that should keep any buyer fully entertained and rocking hard.

Other interesting lots in next Friday’s Sale include a Gentleman’s Omega De Ville Automatic

wristwatch, a Les Parsons oil painting, depicting a tank steamer in a winter harbour and finally a Bolitho tin Ingot stamped with a lamb and flag.

We’re now accepting entries for our upcoming Fine Art & Antique Sale on Friday 13th October.
