Lodge and Thomas, The Truro Saleroom are pleased to invite you to view our forthcoming auction of Antiques, Fine Art and Collectables scheduled for Friday 7th July.

Viewing days: Wednesday 5th & Thursday 6th July from 10am – 4pm, as well as from 8:30am on the morning of the sale.

Illustrated Catalogue

This sale features an impressive collection of silver, including a large, foliate engraved tray, weighing in excess of 3,450g by Aitken Brothers and a finely cast five piece tea service by Crichton Brothers, weighing 2,902g. In addition to these, the jewellery section has an interesting selection of gilt metal fob watch keys and fobs.

Our fashion section is becoming a regular feature and again contains a good selection of bags and scarves, showcasing designer brands such as Mulberry, Chanel, Hermes and other leading designers. In addition we have an interesting, early Gucci two tone cotton ladies smock top.

From a local private collector we are pleased to offer an interesting assemblage of African and ethnographical artefacts, to include spears, masks, a head rest and a knobkerrie. Also appearing is an assegai with an apparent interesting family history relating to The Battle of Isandlwana.

Once again we have assembled a fine assortment of clocks and watches. There are intriguing purse/travel watches by Movado, popular in the early 20th century, these watches could easily be slipped into a bag or pocket. We have a particularly fine example which includes an alarm mechanism. We also have a cyclist’s trophy from the late 19th century in the form of a cyclist with his bicycle, the front wheel incorporating a clock face and mechanism, a fine hunter pocket watch by Elgin, the case engraved with a stag, a high quality filigree watch chain with hardstone fob and an early 20th century silver cased Omega fob watch.

Furniture in the sale includes an incredibly stylish easy chair by Danish designer Ib Kofod Larsen, a 19th century Ceylonese carved hardwood circular table, a set of six tubular chrome cantilever chairs by pieff and a stunning contemporary light fitting by Kartell.
