Farm Rent & Arbitration

Acting for either landlord or tenant we advise on current rent levels and trends, advise on the law governing rental revisions under both AHA 1986 and ATA 1995, serve necessary notices, negotiate revised rents and conduct arbitration proceedings where rents are not agreed by negotiation.

The purpose of agricultural arbitrations was to provide a straightforward and cost effective means for resolving disputes but in recent times this has not always been the case. There are a number of issues, including rent revisions, where arbitration is used to determine disputes between landlords and tenant and we have the knowledge and expertise to represent either party in such proceedings, we have partners who are able to accept appointments to act as arbitrator on the joint appointment of the parties and one of our partners is on the Lord Chancellors panel.
